Since 1995, fatal accident rates in the trucking industry have fallen 14 percent, from 2.35 fatal accidents per million vehicles miles traveled to 2.03 fatal accidents per million vehicle miles traveled. Over the same period, injury-only crashes have fallen 22 percent, from 44.7 accidents per million vehicles miles traveld to 34.8 accidents per million vehicle miles traveled.
